Quick Update

Just in case you were wondering, I'm still in love with Elijah Wood.
Anyway, this article is to give a brief update on all the happenings that have been going on in my life. Last weekend was homecoming weekend at NSU. Man, did I have a lot of fun at the game and parade. I went to the parade with my mom and we were right at the beginning of it. We stood at the corner of the Cherokee Court House and got to see everyone on their floats before they were too overheated and unenthusiastic, like at the end of the parade. Molly was a little sad because she didn't get to go, but she was asleep when we left, so...sorry.
After that,I got in touch with Jessica. She was down that weekend and had brought her friend Kiera with her. Honestly, Kiera is fun to hang out with, but she usually carries so much baggage with her that it is hard to have a good time (and by baggage, I mean drama). Anyway, they came over and we got ready to go to the game. I was on the phone with Cannonie, and we agreed to tailgate together. He drove over to the house and we all rode over in my jeep.
When we got to the stadium, we walked over to where the Phi Lambs were (that's the frat that Cannonie is in). They had a bunch of BBQ (sorry Dana, I had to do it!) and everyone was kind of milling about. We sat around and basically waited for the game to start. I had already eaten, so I did not partake in the delicious food.
Before the game started we walked over to the stadium and got seated. We sat on the 35-yard line. It was kind of funny because the Phi Lambs sit in a group separate from the rest of the greeks. Over the course of the weekend and this week, I have realized that everyone else in the greek system really hate the Phi Lambs. I think it's great, because they remind me of "Animal House" (I'm a zit, get it?). Anyway, I was mad because Kiera sat herself down next to me and left Jessica on the outside. Like I wanted to sit by the crazy bitch! It took until about halfway through the game for Jessica to work up the nerve to say something about it, too. Then she moved and sat in front of me, which was in the middle of the group, and then things were better. For those of you who are unaware, Jessica has been seeing this football player at NSU. This is the same guy her parents freaked out about earlier this semester. Well, it was cute watching Jessica watch him play. He started and did a pretty good job.
Anyway, this was the first NSU game I have gone to since becoming a Redmen. It was also homecoming. NSU has a pretty poor record. In fact, they were coming into this game off a 14-game losing streak. So, it was pretty neat when at halftime, NSU was up 7-0 against ECU. Well, that all changed in the third quater when ECU came back and scored two touchdowns. Despite my sadness at losing, I stayed because we were having fun entertaining ourselves in the stands. The Phi Lambs had brought their flag with their greek letters on it. This one Phi Lamb got into a flag-waving contest with the flag guy from ECU. It was pretty funny, seeing as how everyone around us was really annoyed with them. Who cares, though? We got in a war with that loser from ECU and we won!
To get back to the game, I'll save you the gory details, but NSU ended up winning! It was so exciting. They came back in the fourth quarter and scored a touchdown, but didn't make the PAT afterward. However, they did get into field goal position with about 45 seconds left and added the three points on to win the game. Everyone in the stand was chanting things like "We Believe", "Whose Houes? Our House!", "DEFENSE" and screaming anything else until our voices were raw. It had to be one of the best games I have ever attended. The only thing that made the game unenjoyable in the least bit was the fact that Kiera felt the need to explain the rules of the game to me and Jessica the whole game. At one point, I almost turned to her and said, "SHUT UP!", but the Cathy Cunningham in me said to keep it quiet.
So, after the game, we were all ready to go, but Jessica wanted to take a picture with him on the field. We thought that his family had come down, so we were trying to stay out of their way. Well, after waiting for almost 45 minutes, Jessica finds out that he had already left and gone back to his dorm room. I was ok, though, because I told Jessica we could stay, so it was my fault for having to wait so long. After we left the stadium and were walking back to my car, we ran into the leftover Phi Lambs, including K.J., who I hadn't seen in a while. He is in the NSU Band, and he was so excited from winning the game that he ran up to me and gave me a huge hug (I think he tried to pick me up, but I weigh a lot more than I did the last time I saw him).
We got in my car and went home. After talking to my dad briefly, Jessica, Kiera and I got back in the car for what I thought would be a short trip to drop off some food to her football player. Well, turns out Jessica, or rather her man, had something different planned. When we went to the dorms, John, her man, and his friend Coffee (I shit you not) got in the car. I know you're going to hate this Mom, but I was on the phone with Gwen while there was a ton of stuff going on in the car. I didn't know what was going on, but I had to take the guys somewhere before I got to go home, and since I was on the phone, I passed the turn, so they were yelling at me. Well, we stop at Seminary Suites, and Coffee gets out of the car and goes inside somewhere. After a few minutes he comes back downstairs, and I am then told to go home.
Originally, Jessica, Kiera and I were going to cookout for ourselves. But, since John was available for Jessica, she wanted him to come over, which I thought was fine. He brought his friend with him too, so I tried not to care about that, either. I started to get angry when we got back to the pool house and John had invited someone else over without asking. He said to me, "Give this person directions here," and handed me his phone. I tried my best, but was pretty pissed off. So I went to go get the food to cook, since I was now responsible for cooking for six people instead of just three. I used our food from home, and had to scrounge around to gather enough stuff to serve for three huge football players, Kiera, and me and Jessica.
When I came back inside, the guys had taken over. They were sitting at the table and had put in one of my DVDs. I am pretty particular about how I like them to be handled, so I was upset. Well, I started cooking and Jessica was the only person who offered to help me. Once the food was ready, I announced it to the room. John looked at Jessica, and she hopped up to make him a plate. I love my friend, but it upset me to see him treat her so poorly. Now, I don't think there is anything wrong with making a plate of food for your significant other. However, I would never do that if my guy had simply looked at me and not asked. I refused to do anything else for these people, so I made myself a plate and found a seat.
The next thing that pissed me off was the fact that these guys came over, said barely two words to me or anyone else and then stayed for at least an hour and a half. I wanted them to leave so badly, but I didn't want to upset Jessica. So, they finally decided to leave and I was happy. Coffee was the only person who said thanks for the food, by the way.
Sometime before the guys left, Jake and Lauren, two more of Jessica's friends from Stillwater, showed up. I had no problem with them coming over, as they have both been to my house before. Well, little did I know, but Kiera was fighting with them. She has a way of making everything more dramatic then it has to be. Well, everyone (present company excluded) wanted to start partying since it was going to be a huge night in town, due to the win and all. So, everybody started drinking on their drinks and wanted to play a game. Well, I usually play but participate with a virgin drink of some sorts (this night I chose Coke). Kiera was playing and being ultra aggressive to Jake and Lauren. I had to deal with WWIII in my pool house for about two hours. Finally everyone was ready to go out.
Well, we drove to Katy Winbray's houes, because Kiera was going to stay there for the night. I got out of the car and went inside, but just didn't feel much like mingling with people anymore. The rude football players, Kiera and Jessica had all put me in a bad mood (Jessica for letting her man be rude). So, I split as soon as I could and went back home. I had had plans to go out to the river with the Phi Lambs, but ended up passing out instead, much to the dismay of Crazy Aaron and Cannonie. - As a side not, during Crazy Aaron's first year in Tahelequah, he was going to pledge Phi Lamb, but didn't. So he know a bunch of them. He happened to be in town that night, and we talked and he wanted to come out to the river with me. -
In some ways I am disappointed that I didn't go out and have more fun on Homecoming. But in many other ways, I don't care. I get irritated with my friends because they drive me crazy, so sometimes I just have to be alone. Unfortunately, Homecoming was one of these nights (plus I had to drive to Tulsa in the morning and didn't feel like staying out all night and being tired the next day).
That's about all I can write for now. I have more to share, but I need to get some other stuff accomplished right now. And, oh yeah, and after all that, I still love Elijah Wood.
